Full confession: I’m not beer-savvy like fellow Perceptive Travel blogger Brian Spencer, who can rattle off posts about craft beer in Singapore. I do know what I like, which is usually some sort of ale, even if I don’t yet know the language to describe it (although I can say “hoppy,” because who wouldn’t want to throw around a fun word like “hoppy?”)
My list of beers explored is still quite puny, but it’s a start. There’s the unfiltered wheat from Boulevard Brewing in Kansas that looked rather odd because it was cloudy when most of us are used to clear beer, but it was delicious. I tried Honey Bear Golden Ale from the Jasper Brewing Company in Alberta, Canada, and most recently it was Tankhouse Ale from Mill Street Brewery in Toronto.
You can poke all around in the app, but the website is set up for exploration as well, if apps aren’t your thing. In The Pub on Untapped you’ll find the latest “reports from the field” of who is drinking what and reporting it from the app, current Trending Beers and Trending Places that are seeing a lot of action.
