Only in the United States would we be exhorting people to power through illness as they unwrap a cough drop to help with bronchitis.
I thought of this when I put on my reading glasses to decipher the tiny blue print on a Halls throat lozenge.
When I realized that it was a bunch of different rah-rah-power-through messages (apparently taglined “A Pep Talk in Every Drop” – you can’t make this stuff up) I immediately thought….
You would NEVER see an item like this for sale in Europe, Asia or Latin America.
They have too much sense.

Gives a new meaning to the phrase “Suck it up” eh? Ridiculous.
I still see plenty of ‘keep calm and carry on’ (and its variations) signs in the UK. that’s about the economy being sick, though, I guess, rather than having a cold…
