well i agree with the end of this article, i've applied but have yet to hear anything, nor do i see who has actually won the darn thing when i go on the website, it all sounds like just a bunch of publicity stunts that wastes people's times.

Hi
Thanks for the piece - its an interesting read. I like to think that doing a video can be a fair exchange for having an amazing adventure - well I hope applicants for our position think so! If you want to see some of the candidates videos to see how much they have invested we now have a website
http://www.entirelyworldfamous.com
I would be interested to see if you still think they have wasted their time - we don't! We think they are great :)

David, thanks for the link (<a href="http://www.grumpytraveller.com/2009/06/20/best-job-in-the-world-i-don%e2%80%99t-think-so " target="_blank" rel="nofollow">Best job in the world? I don’t think so</a>) to your post. Interesting - hadn't realized that the Aussie media had already had a go at Ben.

Seems that the winner really is Queensland Tourism.

Am I the only one that thinks that the Queensland Best Job In The World will prove to be the exact opposite? It sounds like my idea of hell...

It's good to see tourism departments think of creative marketing to promote, rather than relying on the traditional ad media. The first one usually win, like the Queensland’s Best Job. A lot of media and attention. Yet, how to follow up the worldwide attention and put it into real development of local tourism would remain a challenge.
