Yes, it's a shame. Hopefully another time our travel schedules will coincide

Liz, I still wish we could have been there at the same time! But I hope you have a great trip. And I really could have spent longer in the Ferry Building. We ended up having pizza at one of the restaurants attached to the building, and the food wasn't nearly as good as you could get from all the indoor shops and farmers' stands.

Seems quite nice from the photos and your description. The market places are often of fun and feel of lifelihood. :)

Hi Nia, Am really enjoying your posts about your recent trip to San Francisco and surrounds. The Ferry Building and it's farmer's market is on my list 'must see' list on my upcoming trip. Already marked the Tuesday market into my itinerary - your post has simply made me even more determined to make sure I don't miss it.

Sounds like you're a born San Fran-lover, Andy :-) And you're right, it's a beautiful space inside. I was just at a contemporary art museum here in upstate New York, and was thinking the Ferry Building could use a small section devoted to art, it's such a gorgeous building with great light.

Thanks for the info Sharon! It is SO nice to have an organization that helps people learn how to buy and eat local produce in season. That's what makes San Fran so great for locovores, or people who just love great food. Ramps and garlic scapes were in season when I was there, and I got little bits of cooking advice for both.
