		<description>Great advice all around Sheila. USAir has been on my personal "no fly list" for almost two years now and I've been much less angry as a result. 

I would add that one other battle plan is to vacation in Latin America instead of the U.S. Yes, the flights will cost more, but everything else is far less on arrival and the flights are usually more pleasant, especially if you are on a foreign airline.</description>

Ok, well if you're not going to literally kick the airline's ass, then I'd like to add:  never ever take a connecting flight.  Always go direct.  You're just asking to get stranded in some random city, with nothing more than a $5 food voucher and a shrug.</description>
