Kohnstamm sure has stirred up a hornet's nest. Everyone seems to be blogging, reporting, and talking about it. Good publicity or Not? Hey, Matt, that’s a great site you’ve got there! Not too egotistical to have an “Ask Me” section, I don’t think–I mean, if you’ve been and others haven’t and people want to know, they want to ask, right? Love your photos.

I’m with you on Kohnstamm’s long-term effect on the industry. When it comes down to it, his impact on travel guides will be virtually nil, and I’m afraid his book, although its initial sales will be high due to the hype, will probably be forgotten. Writers who last are people like Colin Thubron.

Excellent website. I don’t think this guy will have a major effect on the industry. He’ll make a splash and be forgotten. At the end of the day, people will still buy guidebooks and ask for people’s opinions on places they have been.
