** Hi Wendy, sure -- hope I can visit Puerto Rico someday.

** Susan J. -- my trip through part of the Blue Ridge this past summer was a travel highlight; happy to include you.

** Antonia -- happy to do it; it's fun to find the nuggets.

** Marilyn Terrell -- thanks so much for stopping by! Always great to hear from the National Geographic Traveler blog, and that's a wonderful suggestion for where to find glass artist Chihuly.

Much good stuff, thanks!
Another great place besides Fairchild Gardens to see Dale Chihuly creations popping up amid real vegetation is the Phipps Conservatory in Pittsburgh, where the Chihuly glass works have taken over the entire multi-room glasshouse and even outdoors in the gardens. THe show has just been extended until Feb.24 due to overwhelming popular demand. For the most dramatic effect, go at night when all the sculptures are lit up: http://www.phipps.conservatory.org/chihuly/index.html
