Reach for the sky in Albuquerque

A balloon from Riga, Latvia at the Albuquerque, New Mexico Balloon Fiesta (Scarborough photo)

Just a note to say that the Balloon Fiesta here in Albuquerque, New Mexico is an absolutely spectacular event.

Hundreds of colorful balloons all rising off of the ground and drifting across the desert sky is an unmatchable sight.

My Internet connection is currently rather spotty, but I couldn’t resist finding a place to upload this photo of a Latvian balloon.

Now, that’s some international flavor!

No, they did broadcast some general upbeat background music over the Balloon Fiesta field, but there was so much going on (and so much whooshing from the balloons) that we couldn’t hear it.

Nothing like the Sky Orchestra, which sounds pretty amazing as long as you don’t mind being awakened at dawn. :)
