Here’s a chance to stop buying and throwing away so many plastic water bottles on the road. Perceptive Travel is giving away the SteriPEN Traveler in a contest with its newsletter subscribers. This is a compact little invention that allows you to purify your water in 60 seconds, with no pumping, bulky filters, or tablets. Kiss the landfill plastic goodbye.

Only newsletter subscribers will be eligible though, so here’s what you need to do. Get yourself on over to the Perceptive Travel home page and click on that box on the top right that says “Sign up for our newsletter.” Just your name and e-mail address is required and we only bug you once every two months. (No “a word from one of our partners” either.)

Then when you receive the newsletter on September 5, you’ll see a few easy questions. Send the answers (easily gleaned from the new issue) and your name will go in the hat for the drawing. We don’t ever get a flood of correct entries, so your odds are good.
